Exam venue checklist: ten checks before, during and after a paper
For whoever sets up the projector and runs the room. Print this page, or save it for your next session.
Before the paper
- Projector on, and the PC on mains power, not battery
- Sleep and screen saver off for the session
- Sound tested from the back row, if you use a chime
- PC clock checked against a reliable time
- Paper names, end times and durations match the timetable
- Concession groups match the approved list
During the paper
- Watch the room, not the screen
- Note every disruption: what, when and for how long
- Add lost time back as your exam rules allow
At the end
- Keep the timer up until the last group has finished
This list is practical, not official. Where your exam rules say something different, follow your rules.
One screen for the whole venue.
Exam Timer shows the countdown, the five-minute warning and time up on the projector, works out each concession group, and tracks the matric bathroom rule. Runs in the browser, no installs.
